It's 3.25am and I currently am in cdu with the rudest night nurse ever I was admitted via Skegness with shortness of breath Query pe I have been here since 8pm am diabetic had no food 1 drink (which I asked for) Have finally got pain relief (wrong dosage ) so won't or is not working I have been asking for something to sleep for 3 hours now I can only describe it as kings cross station complete with 4 relatives That have just gone home further bloods at 2am Still no offer of food or drink just a mouthful from a stressed nurse who will try and get me moved to a ward She explained its an admissions ward which is fine but do we really need the entire family and asking and interviewing patienots at this hour The chatter is constant the phone is constant Bearing in mind I am short of breath my obs have been done once on admission ( day staff lovely and I was in a side room) sadly short lived So far it's an absolute joke I am tired hungry in agony uncomfortable etc etc I will be out of here in the morning for sure and drive home to Coventry

Dear anonymous - your experience was tangible....reading your posting I could almost hear the noise and relate to the environment; I am extremely sorry. As you say despite being an admissions unit - which does mean that patients are coming in at all hours - we should be able to try and do something about the noise. In relation to your care - there were clearly failings as you describe, particularly with your diabetes and pain control and I am extremely sorry - I know that the team will be disappointed to hear of your experience. I have passed this onto the team and asked them to come back to me.

I hope you did get home to Coventry ok.......again our thanks for telling us about your experience; I am sorry it was not a good one but please be assured that we are listening and learning from them and they are very important to us.
