"Dental hospital"

About: The Royal London Hospital

Anything else?

Today I had excruciating dental pain and was unable to get into any local dentists and didn't finish work till 5.30. On the website it states that there is a walk in service from 5.30, I attired to call several times but no answer. The pain got so bad I decided to go there myself, a 25 minute train journey. When I got there there was a notice on the door saying they only have a reduced service currently, but this was not updated on the website. They did not let me in, I tried to call the number again but user busy. Constantly. Luckily another gentleman waiting outside had got through and after his conversation he passed his phone to me very kindly, then I spoke to a triaging nurse who took my details and said she would call back. When I got a call back she told me to go to a private clinic in chad well Heath that were open till late, I explained that I had come from Ilford hoping to be seen and then she wanted to send me back! She managed to fit me in after an hour, she did not let me on to use the waiting area instead I had to go hunting for somewhere to sit in the rain in an unbeknown area! Finally when I went back after an hour, I waited another half an hour to be seen by the dentist. I explained my symptoms, he literally asked me to open my mouth an looked for a maximum of 30 seconds and told me that he would prescribe antibiotics to reduce swelling, he was not even sure wether it was an infection or what tooth it was. He told me to see my dentist after a week. After paying £18 I atleast expected him to have a good look rather than briefly scan. Very dissatisfied with the service, is this what I pay so much taxes for!?!?
