I have been seen at west Berkshire hospital, Newbury by the gynaecology team based at RBH. My laparoscopy was due to be carried out at Newbury, my appointment was sent by RBH who booked me in at RBh instead of newbury. I phoned to get this changed to Newbury where I live. Then 2 weeks ago i received a phone call to inform me that the equipment at Newbury is now faulty and no idea when will be replaced due to cost. Now back to RBH, who then afterwards sent me a new pre-op appointment for Newbury. On receiving this letter I assumed that meant the equipment had been replaced. On arrival at Newbury I was informed that I had wrongly been sent this latest appointment (I`m not the only one). No new equipment, but RBH still sending letters to patients to go to Newbury. The staff at newbury where very sorry and I could tell they are fed up with this happening not only to themselves, but for the patients is well. Please RBH get your act together and stop messing us about unnecessarily. The newbury staff where going to phone the doctors secretary to chase and sort this asap, they could see from my notes that this needs sorting soon with the amount of pain I`m in is restricting my life.
