"Ridgeway birthing unit."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

Anything else?

I feel I should share my experience at the Ridgeway birth centre in chase farm. The unit is separate from the labour ward and is for natural births. All the staff there were so friendly, made me feel at ease and great at their jobs. The room i gave birth in was clean and the lovely staff set up a zed bed next to mine so my partner could stay over night with baby and me. We were really happy and relieved really that we were so well looked after...you just don't know what to expect, especially after all sorts of stories u hear. The staff gave us the information on support and advice etc and really seemed to care. Gratefull to the staff for helping to make this life changing experience as great as it was. I am sad to hear that in the near future (if not already) we will no longer be able to have our babies born here. Its just a shame. Also my mum had recently been looked after with heart problems and we dont have any complaints on the care that was given there either.

The Trust is pleased that you had a positive experience whilst using our services and will ensure your feedback is directed to the manager responsible for the Ridgeway Birthing Centre to disseminate to their staff. The Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Clinical Strategy identified the need to deliver better healthcare for the people of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. The changes resulting from the proposed implementation of the strategy will see widespread improvements in local health services. This includes the expansion and redevelopment of maternity and neonatal services at Barnet and North Middlesex Hospitals, including the development/expansion of midwife-led birthing units at both. For the local population this will mean local services meet London-wide quality standards; the right staff are available to provide healthcare services, including providing the right level of consultant cover to meet quality standards; reduce the risks associated with the duplication of services; and deliver a sustainable future for the local NHS Thank you for your feedback
