We were sorry to learn of your poor experience. Whilst the department may not appear busy to you the layout means that not all patients in the department will be visible to you. There are different areas including what we refer to as majors and minors depending on the severity of a patient's condition. Upon arrival in the department patients are triaged and given a clinical priority which will explain why patients arriving after you were being seen sooner - this is likely to indicate a greater clinical urgency with regard to their care. I hope that you did receive appropriate treatment eventually and can only apologise if communication regarding your waiting time was inadequate.
