Following a GP referral to the Mermaid Centre at Treliske a number of concerns arose. The GP had sufficient concerns to refer on and yet the consultant concerned made clear that I was wasting his time. The information provided about my health was unclear and yet another consultant told me I should go back to the Mermaid if there were any changes. There was a a distinct lack of cohesion and clarity in the medical advice given. Further to this there was a lack of awareness regarding lesbian relationships, the senior medical staff were rude and abrupt.
