Anything else?
Having read an earlier entry I was a little anxious about the procedure I was about to undertake but there was no need. From the minute I arrived on D ward the staff made me feel at ease and explained everything clearly. They understood my anxiety and were very reassuring. My named nurse was very caring and encouraging. The surgeon and the anaesthetist were as professional and efficient as you would expect. I went to theatre in a positive frame of mind despite being apprehensive. Following the operation I was cared for really well and there was no sense of trying to rush me off the ward at all. It is 48 hours since the operation and I am doing really well at home. The whole idea of day surgery surely means less chance of infection and being comfortable at home. I am certain that had there been a need I would have been kept in hospital longer. Finally, I would like to thank all the staff on D ward for their professional but cheerful care.
