Anything else?
On Monday afternoon my little finger got caught in a car door. My hand was literally left hanging as the door was shut and after opening it to release my finger the deep gash (with tissue, fat coming out) needed urgent attention. I managed to stop the bleeding with help from an experienced local first aid doctor (cleaned the gash, applied sterile strips and bandage) prior to rushing to a&e. I checked-in, had my accident assessed, re-assesed, x-rayed and then finally securely stitched with 2 hours of my arrival. I am extremely fortunate to have been looked after by the on call nurse. I set him the challenge to have me in and out within 2 hours. Not only did he exceed my expectations of the service offered but made my whole experience a pleasant one. As you can imagine my finger was throbbing, blood was still coming out and I still at the time of arriving had no idea if there was even a small fracture. The nurse put me at ease straight away, explained all the possibilities including the options I had, arranged the x-ray (which was completed within 20 mins) and had me (for a better word) stitched up ready to go. I am very happy with the service provided to me and would highly reccommend this a&e as one of the best in London. I hope this is fed back to the nurse and included in his appraisal. Thank you.
