What a shame that the only way you can get seen in a reasonable time and get a decent level of care is to pay privately - not a reflection of overworked staff! We paid to see a private consultant because my partner is suffering from a condition which is making everyday thoroughly miserable. After several patronising visits to the GP we were referred to see a consultant - the wait was several months. This was simply unacceptable. We were left with no choice to pay privately. The upside is that we were seen within a week and the consultant was wonderful. We were treated like human beings, not like a number. We were given time, not rushed, We were listened too, not talked at. We were seen on time, not made to wait. I could go on. We left feeling reassured and cared for. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to pay this bill!
