My son became breathless and had an erratic heartbeat early hours of the morning. His partner saw he looked unwell and at 7am took him straight to Tameside Hospital, Ashton under Lyme A&E. He was seen immediately and as soon as he explained his symptoms he was attended to by a team of staff. He had several tests in quick succession and was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat which was fluctuating wildly.
He was put on the Coronary Care Unit and seen by the consultant quickly. Myself and my wife arrived at 5pm after traveling and we were immediately updated by the Ward sister on his condition. His partner had remained with him all day and her exact words were " Considering Tameside hospital has been heavily criticised for a long time, we cannot fault the speed and quality of care we have had since we got here"
He was given medication as we got there which worked at 4am and flipped his heart rate back to normal. He was seen by the consultant the following morning and discharged.
We can only repeat his partners words, the care, attention and diagnosis was outstanding and all who were involved should be notified officially not by us just sending a card that is pinned on the wall.
Give the staff a morale boost in light of the publicity surrounding the hospital.
Excellent, many thanks.
