About: Royal Preston Hospital

Anything else?

I have recently been an inpatient for total abdominal hysterectomy. The care I received was good but it was obvious at certain times there was not enough staff to cope with demand . The only thing I would suggest from a morale point f view would be the availability of national daily newspapers/magazines to buy in the mornings. None of the tv's were working either and if you are not getting visitors it can be a long day.

Thank you for providing feedback about the care and treatment we provide. Your comments have been noted and will be reviewed to identify opportunities for improvement and any actions that may be necessary. We recognise that there have been some staffing pressures lately, and so in the past year we have recruited an additional 80 nurses as part of a £1.5m investment in the nursing workforce. Daily newspapers, magazines and books are available to buy from the WHSmith shop at the front of the hospital, and a newsagent trolley service is provided to all wards at various points during the day. We'll look into the issue of the TVs. If you would like to provide further details, or would like a personal response, please email customer.care@lthtr.nhs.uk, or you can speak with our PALS team on 01772 522972.
