"Despite all the doom and gloom, there is nothing that could be improved"

About: Brixham Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

I recently received an excellent service from Brixham Hospital. For a start, the location itself is great for me, as getting to Torbay hospital is a bit of a chore.

I saw the orthopeadic consultant, following an x-ray I had received a few weeks ago. I can't remember his name, although I think it was Martin. He gave me an injection in my knee for arthritis.

All of the staff I saw at the hospital were wonderful and friendly.

In my opinion, despite all the doom and gloom you hear about the NHS, there is nothing that could be improved with this service.

Response from Jo Curtis, Patient Engagement Lead, Engagement Team, South Devon and Torbay CCG

Dear Poster644,

Many thanks for your positive comments. As commissioners of both Brixham hospital and the Orthopaedic service, it is really important to hear how patients experience their care and so helpful when people take the trouble to tell us, as you have done. I know that staff at both Brixham hospital and Orthopaedics will be glad to hear your feedback and I will make sure it is passed on to the organisations providing those services.

Incidentally, you may be interested in some discussions we will be holding in our Paignton and Brixham locality in the autumn and winter about planning the future of community services. Do look out for information in the press and on our website about this, but in the meantime, this will tell you what we are hoping to achieve:

Thank you again for taking the time to give your opinion.

Best wishes,

Jo Curtis
