"My Admission and Care on Ward 60 at Hull Royal..."

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I was admitted to Ward 60 at Hull Royal Infirmary on 24th July, quite poorly. I was there 5 days. During those 5 days I received first class care from every single member of staff and I leave none out at all. Everyone was worked off their feet and the staff never stood still for a moment. Every need was attended to, sometimes a wait of a few minutes was necessary but anything urgent was dealt with right away. They were friendly and chatted and managed to smile in the midst of all they were involved with. The food was good with plenty of choices. It wasn't up to the standard of a 5* hotel, but then look what I was paying !!?? The rooms were cleaned daily and beds changed with the utmost efficiency. I can't fault my care one bit, I'm amazed how well they coped under such pressure. A totally brilliant team! During one night I witnessed the nurses caring for, what appeared to be, a very confused and frightened older lady. The care and tenderness with which they dealt with her was extremely commendable, if I had lost any faith in people then that night restored it all. Thank you all so much. Also a huge thank you to those in A & E who dealt with me in the first instance. You are brilliant all of you!
