About: Stafford Hospital

(as the patient),

What could be improved

The shops are expensive compared to other local shops - maybe they're just taking advantage of already vulnerable people! And to have to pay £10 for a replacement chip coin if you lose your carpark chip coin is an affront to those needing to use hospital services, let alone an expensive penalty if you accidentally lose it.

Thank you for taking the time to make a suggestion about how we could improve our services for patients. Your comments have been forwarded to our Customer Services Department

I hope it will help if I explain that the shops in our hospitals are leased to independent companies who make the decision on their charges. We believe that they provide a very valuable service to both visitors and staff who choose to use them. In addition to the shops in the main entrance, the Stafford League of Hospital Friends also provide very reasonably priced refreshments from a coffee bar in the outpatients department and we have trolley services visiting wards.

Unfortunately, the car parking coins cost the hospital over £5.00 to purchase and we will reimburse money if they are subsequently found. We are currently evaluating our car parking service and your comments have been forwarded to the Manager responsible.
