"catalogue of incompetence"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital

Anything else?

I went to AE ( as advised the doctor) on the 28/12/12 and about 6pm I was diagnose with appendicitis and told I had to be operated asap. On the 29th at lunch time I was "taken down" and by then I had a burst appendix. After few problems I was discharged and left with what was suspected to be a hernia. There was no post op appointment inspite of my GP asking for it as there had not been a diagnose about the "suspected" hernia . Finally I got a post op appointment on the 10/6/13 and the surgeon said I could do a normal life exercise etc. because I was 99% recovered and what was left of the hernia would disappear gradually. Now my hernia has grown and it´s giving me problems. What do I do?

I was so sorry to learn of the problems you have experienced. The first port of call would be your GP who can refer you to the surgical team if they assess this to be appropriate.
