"Leaving!"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Leaving!

What could be improved

Consultants: No straight answers and the goal posts are moved daily. Rubbish bed side manner and it's nice to know I'm not a priority even though my illness has made me loose 6 stone and my GP is concerned about annorexia setting in if I don't get sorted out soon.

A supposed 4 weeks wait for my operation date has not materialised and it's frightening how many patients in the SAU and various other wards that have already had operations and are back in hospital after time at home and then have come back to A&E with problems and unexplained pain.

When the doctors need you to have a scan or xray, they cannot even tell you when it might happen.

This hospital causes it's own problems as it's policy is to discharge you as you no longer have pain, rather than sorting out what is causing the pain so that your not admitted again the following week with the same problem.

The nurses work hard but really, 2 qualified nurses between 24 patients - not exactly enough is it?

Plenty of new building being built, pity they are not spending the money on looking after the patients and getting waiting lists down. Absolutely pathetic.
