I underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy on the day surgery ward at West Mid and was really happy with the treatment and care I received, both in terms of the initial consultations I had as an outpatient and with the care I received on the day itself from everyone involved. They made me feel really comfortable with everything. I was back at home by 2pm the day of my surgery and one week later all seems to be healing well. It wasn't an easy decision to go ahead with the surgery as I'm only 31 and some of the potential side effects were a little off-putting. That said, several episodes of bad pain at night even while watching my diet helped me make the decision and I'm glad I did - the stone itself was significantly bigger than when I had my ultrasound (just over 6 months between them).
