What could be improved? Staff communications and politness it doesant cost anything and can reasure a patient they are being cared for. The long wait and lack of communication was stressfull and only added to the situation. The reception staff didant communicate with the medical staff and you were asked to catch them as they came in and out of rooms which was not ideal when they had there minds on other matters. I waited over 5.5hours for transport home before giving up and phoneing my social worker to collect me despite the fact that i had not had my insulin or anything to eat and it was now 10.30am. I found the whole experiance distasteful and would hesitate to attend this a&e again. The 2 hour wait to see a doctor was not helped by members of the medical staff taking their breaks in public behind reception lauging and joking and hardly appearing busy while I sat in pain waiting to see a doctor.
