"It was a wonderful service"

About: NHS 111

(as a service user),

I had to call the 111 service during the night when I came out in a burning / itching rash. The nurse who answered my call took down the details of my symptoms and all the medication I was on then let me know she would speak to a doctor who would call me back in 10 minutes.

They tried several times to get through but because of a phone problem at my end they were not able to do so. When I realized what the problem was (because I had not heard from them) I corrected the phone they did manage to get through.

The doctor asked if I had any antihistamine in the house (which I did), he advised me to take a couple of these to deal with the rash.

I did not need any further treatment. It was a wonderful service.
