I have just finished nearly 3 weeks stay with the hospital and have to report the food which was served to my great disappointment ......not the food itself but the fact I was ready to join the crowd of hospital food bashers. I have never been so well fed for years. The choice was excellent, the taste, the amount, and the way it was cooked all brilliant.
Nobody on the ward ( A7 ) could find fault, although we tried. What a let down! I was looking forward to chatting up the shops about how rubbish it was but that's out the window now, nothing but praise. It even got to the state we were looking for something to complain about.
One day I found a minute piece of bone in my fish and was held back from rushing around the ward shouting, 'I've got something to complain about" but was held back and had it pointed out that it didn't count as food or cooking.
On my discharge date, I was also disappointed to find out I couldn't book a stay for next year being told you have to be ill. (How selfish of them!)
So all in all, please pass our well wishes and compliments to all the kitchen staff who were responsible for the preparation and cooking and delivery of said food.
When I feel the craving for good food again, I am contemplating throwing myself under a bus to gain admission or at least let the wife read I found the cooking better than hers ....but expect that could turn into a case of not being able to eat or chew anything for months! All the best to every one concerned.
