Staff kind and caring but little evidence of planning, organisation or management. Notice on wall talks about my care plan - never seen it. Simple referral on Friday from Oncology, Preston, for blood transfusion and platelets. Should have been discharged Saturday morning. Still in Sunday morning because nobody has authority to decide whether I can be discharged. Issues over weekend - blood sample lost, handover on shift change at 10pm Friday lacking (which meant the duty doctor discovered me at 11.30pm), confusion over drugs (I am self administering now), Nobody to take blood test Saturday pm (I persuaded young nurse who had seriously bad cough and should not have been working), SHO supposed to review my case last night to see if I could go home - never turned up, supposed to see consultant today but staff can't tell me if it will be this morning, this afternoon or tomorrow. Same procedure at Preston took 10 hours. Here 36 so far and prospects somewhere between 48 and 60 hours. I am big advocate of Health Service and easy going fella but felt I needed to say something.
