"Amazing care from the labour ward"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

I wanted to write a quick note to thank the team at Pinderfields Hospital for the recent care I received. On the 9th July 2013 I was admitted to Pinderfields for the birth of my first child. Right from the when my contractions started on the 8th July, the team were on hand (over the phone) to guide me through the experience and advise on next steps. On 2pm on the 9th July the Labour ward advised that I come in. I was assessed on the Triage ward and then taken down to the Delivery Suite. From 4pm to 8pm my Midwife and was amazing and really put my mind at ease. At 8pm another midwife took over and couldn't do enough for me or my partner Lance. I put my total trust in her and allowed her to guide me through the experience. I really cannot express how great she was and the fantastic care that she provided. She made the whole experience an enjoyable one. Thanks so. Can we also say a massive thanks to the Senior Midwife, who was also present towards the end of the birth. She was fantastic and believe it or not we had a giggle!! Following the birth of our daughter Caitlin Lily, the extended team continued the fantastic care - little things such as grabbing me a sandwich (as I hadn't felt like eating all day), running me a bath, tucking me up in bed (exhausted). The next day the team on ward 18 helped me with all the things that terrify a first time mother - how to change a nappy, how to bath her, breastfeed etc. We cannot thank you all enough.......you are such an amazing team and a real credit to the NHS. Suzanne, Lance and Baby Caitlin
