Anything else?
I landed in Basildon hospital 3rd June having had a stroke at home 8-30 am,in hospital by 9oc brain scan by about 9-10 (Wife recognised symptoms phoned 999.). All the time I was in the Stroke and Re-hab unii I was treated with respect and professional understanding, tinged with a little humour. I cannot praise the doctors or staff (all ranks) enough, this was a worrying time for my wife and myself, we are both 82 and we received help and friendliness from everyone. Having a Stroke is not what I would recommend to anyone, but Basildon Hospital Stroke an Re-hab staff are second to none, of course I am biased but I have been in a few hospitals in my life, Basildon included, so I have a degree of experience and objectivity. I have a lot of respect for the Physio and OT teams, they push you to achieve things you thought you would not be able to do again, and did it with humour. Well done Basildon Stroke and Rehab Units, I was deported (sorry discharged) on the 14 June I am home now and recovering well. thanks to you all, the lovely tea lady as well. Sid Spence Laindon
