"Day Services Centre"
About: North Manchester General Hospital North Manchester General Hospital Manchester M8 5RB
My sister and I recently accompanied our 82yr old dad to the Day Services Centre for a procedure. We sat with him in the waiting area and were there for 5 mins when someone announced that the area was for patients only and everyone else had to leave. Why? This area looked just like a waiting room, nothing clinical about it, and was by no means full of patients, in fact I think there were only 3 other people waiting and approx. 20+ seats empty. There was no set time for our dads procedure and it turned out that he was sat there on his own for 4 hours before he was called. There was someone else equally annoyed as us as she had to leave her 78yr old mother who was already terrified about what she was having done. What is wrong with sitting with your relative until it is time for them to be called? Apart from that side of it our dads procedure went well and he was quite happy when we saw him on the ward later.
