"Never again"

Anything else?

Took my youngest son to the UCC on 17/7/13 for a skin infection, had a good idea what was wrong myself UCC dr saw him and gave his thoughts them being what I was concerned about but said my son would have to go round to children's a&e as an urgent case. Went round son was seen approx and hour later by a dr who took a picture of my sons rash on phone disappeared to show his senior and returned approx 15 mins later saying my son was fine with nothing more than a viral rash. On advice of local gp receptionists I took my son back to hospital a&e only I chose to take him to Lewisham, the care difference was amazing, my son was spoken to appropriately (I should say now he is 7 and has Autism) by the triage nurse who moved us to a room. A little later the dr came who was alarmed at sons so called viral rash and went to get a more senior paediatrician, my son was promptly diagnosed and has been discharged with 2 different medicines and the warning that the next 24 hours are the decider in which he may need to still be admitted to childrens ward if this is the case I will only return to Lewisham. I will never take any of my 3 children into the pru again, this is sadly not the first time treatment at pru has been delayed, one of my sons needed 3 nebulisers in a 5 hour period as nurses don't recognise a silent asthmatic wheeze.
