"First class care"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Anything else?

I felt I had to write and express my gratitude for the standard of care and nursing I received at Blackpool Victoria in the Cardiac Wards recently, it was second to none. The care I received in Intensive Care and on Ward 38 was fantastic nothing was to much trouble for them even an old boy in his nineties who had severe diarrhoea the nurses were so understanding, I have to admit it was not something I could have done, they just quietly got on with it and cleaned him up and then took him for a bath and he came back very happy, in my opinion beyond the call of duty. The camaraderie was good to see from sister down through the ranks, as a team they excelled and I was in the best position to observe. I cannot express my thanks and gratitude enough. However my discharge from the Hospital was spoilt by the fact that my family and myself were kept hanging around for three hours waiting for a prescription and then had to endure a long journey home, not arriving there until 8.00pm which I feel was unacceptable and let the whole team down. I do feel this area needs improving for the future benefit of patients but this was the only criticism I could find in an otherwise faultless stay.
