"Sent home dying man with no appropriate care in..."

About: Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley)

Anything else?

Discharged husband clearly needing clinical care and when taking him back twice sent him home even though care and bed requested by wife (did not listen to wife) went back second time to see as very sick and Consultant appointment was expected. No Consultant appeared available and he was told he was getting worse and not going to get better and in no uncertain terms to go home and call his family who were not even in the Country when he said they were on the way back told to go and call them immediately in other words death was imminent. He could hardly breath only with oxygen, eat, drink, slurred speech, bed sores and a drainage tube. clearly when he was discharged approx. 10 days earlier it appears they had no intention of taking him back in I drove him home and community care was more of an hindrance no one wanted him to go back it seems when complaint sent in their response after he had passed away was that he wanted to go home. First time this had been mentioned,, although I was with him for 42 years and throughout his illness. Their cancer care appears to be very low for socio economic area and I can vouch for that his care was dreadful from beginning to end. I wonder if the fact that around November 2011 none or low payments for readmissions were coming into force or no staff. It certainly appears something was stopping them from readmitting him. Needless to say his death at home was inhuman with no care available no fluids, no equipment to give painkillers and no appropriate bed for him. he died within 36 hours of hospital sending us home. I would never ever want to end up in that Hospital. It had been mentioned by cqc last year in an email I received.that their was a staffing issue however they received a clean bill for some reason. I would be interested to know how they work out their death rates and are the patients they send home included and how does that work since they appear to send cancer patients to the Royal Surrey for some treatment.
