"A and E on the 9th July"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

I would like to thank the doctors who have been treating my husband over the last few weeks, and to all the staff who were fantastic. I just wish you could get to all the floors without having to use the lifts, that's my only problem with Queens, I don't like using lifts, and the stairs should be opened to the public, I have to ask at the front desk every time to use the stairs, then I get lost!

Thank you for leaving your comment on NHS Choices. I am pleased that you are so happy with the care your husband has received, and I will pass on your praise to the staff. You’re right to raise the issue about access to the stairs, which is a frustration to many visitors to the hospital. Given we should be encouraging people to use the stairs rather than the lifts if they are able to, to help them keep fit, it is a design flaw in the building. However, our Information Desk staff are always happy to accompany people to the stairs and help them get to their destination. Yours sincerely, Dr Mike Gill Medical Director
