"Keyhold surgery on shoulder"

About: Derriford Hospital

Anything else?

Six weeks ago after referral by my GP and after trying physio and a cortisone jab, I had keyhole surgery for shoulder impingement. I saw the surgeon on the two occasions for referral and the pre op assessment. He was absolutely wonderful, took time to explain the surgery, what to expect and treated me like a person, not an NHS number!. The nursing staff at the clinics were also friendly and efficient. When I had the surgery, my treatment could not be faulted. The whole team were cheerful, hardworking but still had time for each patient. Before the op (I am normally very nervous) because of the cheerful conversation I went off to sleep with a smile. The surgeon came to see me before I left, I was offered tea and a sandwich and the nurses looked after me very well. All in all a good positive experience. The op was a great success and I have nothing but praise for the surgeon and his team. Thanks Derriford
