86 year old grandmother sent into a&e with a fall. A&e treated her well but wanted to send her home when she could barely walk. They them moved her on to med 6 without consulting me (next of kin). The treatment she received in med 6 was awful, she was not taken to the loo for the whole weekend which made her end up being very poorly and with a catheter. They try to tell you there are no doctors around. If i had not gone to visit her and demanded a doctor to examine here i don't know what would have happended to her! When they discharged her they sent her home with a catheter without showing her how to empty it, clean it or change it! No referal for 8 weeks! All this from a fall and they just want people out of the beds asap! Even though there were empty wards right next door! Very dissapointed!
