Anything else?
I spent the first night bursting for the toilet surrounded by wires attached to my body. In the morning I was told there was an alarm button I could have pressed, but no one had informed me of this fact. After 4 days I was moved to Newcastle for surgery. Freeman is a hospital of excellence. The difference in expertise, work ethic and care was amazing. I felt safe from the moment I arrived at Newcastle, a feeling I never experienced at Carlisle. In a nutshell I felt I was a patient at Newcastle where the staff were doing their utmost to make me better, and they made me feel important. At Carlisle I felt I was an inconvenience, and that the staff were the important people. A massive change of attitude is needed. I am sure better persons than me have tried to remedy this dreadful situation. I had 3 further appointments at Carlisle over the next 6 months. Absolutely farcical. The first test I never received the results and no-one turned up for the next 2. I received an oral apology on the last appointment. Can you wonder why results at Carlisle are so terrible.
