Anything else?
Unfortunately we have ended up being referred to children's A&E at PAH twice in the last month for our 6 month old baby daughter. The first time she was diagnosed with gastric flu and was treated for dehydration. We were seen straight away by a nurse who was lovely and also professional. We then waited to see a paediatrician - she was fantastic and put 2 very anxious parents at ease and also treated our baby daughter with respect and kindness. We have tonight been referred again to A&E as we had a couple of occasions during the night where it seemed our daughter stopped breathing for some seconds. I went to "check in " and was sent round to children's A&E assessment room again. I hadn't even got the pram completely in the door and we were called in by the nurse! A nurse did initial checks on our baby daughter and then told us a paediatrician would come and have a look at her. Within 5 minutes or so, the paediatrician called us. She was incredibly thorough and did not treat us like neurotic parents, but with respect and compassion. She also remembered us and some of our history from our previous visit which we felt was amazing considering how many patients she must deal with daily. To confirm everything was ok and to be completely sure, she got her Registrar to come and check our daughter. Again, the registrar was fantastic and so lovely with me, my partner and our daughter. I have nothing but praise for how we have been treated in this department on both occasions and the staff are a true credit to their profession. Thank you PAH. From Sam, Cath & Madison
"Couldn't ask for more - brilliant with our 6 month..."
