My father attended the assessment unit having had a fall down stairs at home and having sustained hand lacerations and head injury. The staff on the unit were thorough in their assessment making a full assessment not just his obvious injuries, and paid particular attention to communication with him given his hearing difficulties. The Nurse who attended to his injuries was very competent, caring and professional and the care was excellent. He was kindly reminded that the service is available 24 hours and that there was no need to wait until the morning to seek their advice and support. He has since made a very good recovery. Clear instructions around treatment plan, discharge and follow up were given. 6 Cs in action. Many thanks. It would be helpful for the Trust to update the departments for NHS Choices feedback as there is no option for eden assessment unit/minor injuries available. So had to choose the only one available Pharmacy NHS Service in order to submit this review.
