Communication. After a very bad night in the ward my wife, who was admited after a stroke, due to the level of noise and the busy area asked for something to help her sleep the next night. I was assured by the nurse in charge that this would happen without it being written

up,as nurses can now do this. My wife was so concerned and stressed about the previous night we got asurances twice more during the day. Late that evening she was moved to another ward and asked if she would get the sleeping pill, she was told yes. Before settling down she asked for for the pill and was told no its not written up and it couldn't be given. By the next day she was totally stressed and tired out, to the point where she was in a worse state than when she was admited. The nurse in charge then told me that the evening nurse should have got the pill written up there and then and given it to her. Patient care was non existant on this occasion and if she hadn't pressed to be released I feel her wellbeing was put in danger.
