Late afternoon on Friday 1 July my dentist became worried about a persistent pain in my jaw bone: he gave me a referral letter and sent me to the Royal A&E. They sent me to your hospital and I arrived after 4pm. Although as I say it was late I was examined and prescribed a (very effective) antibiotic which relieved the pain markedly after a couple of days. They also gave me very clear and concise instructions and arranged an appointment for Monday 4thJuly. It was then that I realised that this wasn`t A&E and that really I should have gone to Aintree. On the Monday the dentist with minimum fuss scraped out the infection from the unhealed socket and amended my antibiotics. In the week since my jaw pain has decreased very markedly and my general health is much better. I was amazed how swift and friendly all your staff were. I was for many years an Officer in H.M.Armed Forces so I recognise efficiency. You seem to have acieved Military precision with a smiling face. The names of your teams on the TV screen is a nice touch. My thanks to all your staff , particularly those who took pity on a wandering geriatric who should have been in Aintree.
