"Diabetic department: Told to phone back as nurse was busy"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / General Medicine (Lomond Ward)

(as the patient),

I telephoned today to speak to my diabetic nurse at the VOL Hospital, on telephoning I got through and was told to phone back as she was on the other phone and was told that the nurse was having her lunch.

Is it relevant to have one nurse having to answer two phones as I always feel I am waste my time contacting the department yet again then am having to phone my GP practice to disturb my GP who is consulting.

There really needs to be a lot more clarity if there is only one nurse on duty that's having to deal with patients single handed

Thank you for your posting, I hope you were able to speak to your diabetic nurse, and that their unavailability did not cause you any difficulties or anxiety.

Paul
