"3 Colonoscopy Procedure."

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital

Anything else?

As part of the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, I was invited to have a colonoscopy at Liverpool Royal Hospital on March 6th 2013. Two small polyps were removed in this procedure and because of a third large polyp which was found, I had to return on April 8th 2013 to have another colonoscopy to remove this, using EMR technique. On July 1st 2013, I had a further colonoscopy to check the site of the large polyp and thankfully everything was fine. I will be having another colonoscopy in 12 months time. I would like, through you, to thank all the staff in your department, from the receptionist at the front desk through to the doctor and his team and all the nursing staff. Each and everyone of them treated me with the uppermost respect, before, during and after the three procedures and the friendliness they showed goes a long way to easing the nerves at times like this. At a time, when day after day, the N.H.S. gets such bad press, I can only congratulate the professionalism I observed from every member of staff that attended to me. I have been reliably told that not too long ago I would have needed extensive surgery to remove the large polyp, so I really appreciate the expertise and skills of the doctor and I am thankful there are doctors of his quality working in the N.H.S. I feel sure that when the new hospital is built, it will be among the best in the country.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. We have passed it on to the department. Best wishes for the future.
