What I liked

The treatment I received in Shuttleworth ward over two visits was excellent. The surgery was successful and the follow up when on the ward was good. High praise for the surgeons , registrars and doctors and most of the nursing staff and ancillary workers. The discharge procedure could be streamlined but if you are ready to be discharged you cannot be the highest priority!

I have very high praise for the clinical staff.

What could be improved

Follow up in outpatients clinic is severely delayed and at one point I was told by appointments staff that although the surgeon suggested a 4 to 6 week follow up to outpatients clinic there were no appointments available for 3 months! Clearly unacceptable. I still await my outpatient appointment and this is the fourth week. Communication could be improved and callback procedures have been non existent.
