Was urgently ref by GP ref letter said suspected septic arthritis with high temp. Seen fairly quickly by triage nurse arrived at about 15:45 but it wasnt till after 22:00 that I was seen by doctors. Had bloods and x-rays done. Then I saw the main orthopaedic surgeon, who wasnt very happy that I'd had to wait so long. My bloods shown infection which could have been very serious and he was very concerned about this. Luckly this wasnt the case and I was allowed home with antibiotics and painkillers and f/u appnt made. The staff were really lovely and I cant fault the care I eventually received. Don't blame the staff, they're working really hard. Its the system that's breaking down, too many patients not enough investment.
