I was in for about 3 weeks following TTP and a stroke to have my medication stabilised and sorted out. I was moved for pillar to post several times, shouted at by the night staff for pressing the buzzer because I was in so much pain and needed pain killers.
During the day I would press the buzzer as little as possible leaving it until I could stand the pain no longer, but it most often took anything from 30 minutes to an hour before I got any response and several times no response at all!
The food was the nearest thing to inedible I have ever experienced. That did some good though as I lost weight which I wanted to anyway! At 5'4" and weighing nearly 11 stones I went down to around 9st 7lbs which was good. Some of the staff were nice but their attention to detail was abysmal.
All in all a very traumatic experience. I hope I never have to go in there again.
