About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

Anything else?

On the 16th oct 2012 I had routine op in short stay which ended with me bleeding to the point I needed 3 units of blood & 3 days stay in hospital. At the time I thought accident happen every one said how sorry they where & they seemed to be very attentive . The results to the cyst they removed from my sinus turned out to be a benign tumor which will grow back so undergoing repeat visits & ct scan . The 1st scan said they left some behind ,today I returned to be told by another doc " good new the disease has gone ?? " I tried to tell him all the side effects I'm having but he just wasn't interested I may as well been speaking a different language . I asked where's it gone to be told " it's not always clear on a scan whats there and what's not there?? As I was told at my last vist I was going to meet my consultant to discuss when the next op would take place you can understand my confusion . He kept telling me that the same man had done the scans in dec & June so he would check if he thought anything was different . Not being funny but that man must have seen thousand of people from dec to June . Just want people to listen .

I am sorry to hear you did not feel the behaviour of our colleagues was as it should be – nor what we would expect – and that you did not feel we properly listened to your concerns.

Values and behaviours are central to all we do at NUH as is challenging where we don’t get things right. Please do contact me directly on 0115 969 1169 ext 57929 so that I can pick this up with the relevant colleague directly.
