The Minor Injury Unit is no longer running at Palmers Hospital. If you have a minor injury eg a broken bone (I had a broken little finger) then the only place to go is South Tyneside Accident & Emergency. This was slightly irritating after checking the website several times at work then to find out from the receptionist (when I arrived after 6pm), who also added that the MIU only actually ran until 5pm anyway, which was irrelevant!
