"The most magnificent day ward."

About: Bassetlaw Hospital

Anything else?

I cannot thank the whole of the staff on the ward for their kindness, compassion and professionalism. From the moment you walk onto the ward, the environment and atmosphere are conducive to allaying any nervousness you may feel as it is a very clean and well presented space with friendly staff. It appears that you are assigned your own particular nurse within the team as a whole, which is amazing in itself, but with regards to this, I was extremely blessed to have the most wonderful nurse. I cannot express how kind, yet professional she was and I'm sure always is. She instantly put me at my ease, and throughout the whole time I was there, she was reassuring, calm, had an excellent awareness of privacy and my needs and was a brilliant listener whilst still having to do all her many other taxing nursing duties. I cannot extol her enough. She is just the most wonderful nurse. Having said this, the whole team were wonderful, and I was nursed by several other nurses who were also exemplary. When the doctor arrived, again I was very blessed as it was the doctor who had carried out my first hysteroscopy. He is just the most marvellous, proficient, professional doctor, who again put me at my ease. It made me feel extremely safe and secure that he would be part of the team carrying out the procedure. In addition, both my consultant and anaesthetist were both very friendly and didn't rush in explaining what was going to happen. This was very reassuring. The area into which you go post-operatively is very calming and peaceful and greatly aides recovery. As you can tell, I cannot thank the whole of the team on this ward enough, and if this was the experience in every part of any hospital, the NHS would be nothing but highly applauded. Thankyou so much.

Thank you so much for your comments. We're absolutely delighted that you felt so well cared for - it's exactly what we aim to provide for all our patients. It is important that we recognise what we are doing well, along with where we sometimes fail to meet our expectations.

We have made sure that your thanks and appreciation is passed on to the relevant teams. The staff are very grateful for the kind words - and the satisfaction that this kind of feedback brings. It acknowledges that they are giving the best care possible and that it is appreciated.

Thank you again.
