Anything else?
Earlier this year I was referred to Urology by my GP for a ‘fast track’ appointment following the discovery of a raised PSA. There I met the Clinical Nurse Specialist, who asked me a number of questions about events leading up to my referral and carried out an examination before exploring various options. A biopsy of the prostate was subsequently carried out in February and, soon afterwards, I met again with them to discuss the results, this time accompanied by my wife. They answered all our questions satisfactorily and in a direct but sensitive manner. She recommended various information sources and provided her contact details. She also called me back promptly when I subsequently left two telephone messages with further questions. I would like to thank them for her professional, knowledgeable and supportive approach. I’d also like to thank the doctor who gave us the opportunity to ask questions and share our views without feeling rushed, as well as the appointments staff who have arranged my various visits efficiently and responded promptly when I have needed to change dates. Together, all have helped to minimise the stress surrounding this less than welcome development.
