"Excellent Cancer Treatment. Brilliant Chemo Unit..."

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Anything else?

It is because of the standard of care and quality of service I received at Blackburn that I am still here. I was diagnosed with Cancer at 32 around 18 Months ago and received most of my treatment there and I can honestly say it was brilliant all the way through. All my appointments were within expected timescales and everyone was helpful, supportive and informative. I attended the Chemotherapy unit regularly for 6 months and having been to units in other hospitals I am so glad mine was at Blackburn. The unit is small enough that you do not feel lost in a big department. There is a more personal intimate feel, never overbearing or too familiar. Just comfortable and friendly. The staff there are just brilliant, considering the workload and pressures of the job I find it amazing that they are so relentlessly considerate and supportive. I owe them a real debt of gratitude as they could have gone about their work to a perfectly good standard without going the extra mile but they always went out their way for all of the patients.Things may be stretched at the less critical end of the scale but where it really counts they are there for all of us and do a fantastic, often thankless, job.
