"Accident and emergency"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I was taken to the A&E department following a fall in the street. It eventually turned out that I had dislocated my shoulder and broken the top part of my arm. Despite it being a very busy morning at the hospital all the staff I met at reception, A&E, minor injuries and X-ray were professional, kind and caring and made a difficult and painful morning much easier to bear. I was impressed with the calmness, friendliness and efficiency of everyone. I would like to say a special thank you to the doctor who put my shoulder back in with skill and compassion taking the time to reassure me throughout the process. On a number of occasions staff apologised to me for the wait but I did not feel that I was ever kept waiting for longer than necessary and staff kept me fully informed about what was happening and what would happen next at every stage during my treatment.

Hi Elaine, Thank you for posting your comments, it sounds like a very painful injury and we are extremely glad that you are ok! We have passed your comments onto the A&E team so they can all share the praise you have given them. We hope you get well soon and send our best wishes Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
