Anything else?
I have a close relative who has had to return to QE with a severe bacterial infection after surgery. I visited this hospital for the first time yesterday and felt many areas looked grubby or poorly cleaned. The public lifts are very dirty - and surely, as they transport the public to all floors it is essential they are kept spotless? I noticed some patients who were able to walk were also using these lifts. Doesn't this expose them to infection? In such a big hospital cleaning should be of a very high standard, continuous and ongoing day and night. My family is distressed at the condition of my relative and after my visit yesterday I feel that perhaps this hosptal is just not clean enough. I shall watch the rates of infection with interest.
