I have been attending Guernsey House for a few years now. I am so happy and glad to have been moved on from Fitzwilliam to here, since attending Guernsey House I have the most understanding, caring doctor I could ever wish for.

She listens and understands, cares and gives fantastic advice. I feel very comfortable with her and feel I can trust her and talk about everything and anything I need to talk about.

She really hears me which is very important that I'm listened to. We are slowly reducing my subutex and agree on this together. I haven't been rushed or forced to do it, I really want to get off these tablets. My doctor also tells me she is really proud of me and that I should give myself a pat on my own back because I have been doing a really fantastic job in a short space of time compared to others.

I shall miss Guernsey House once I have gone but also scared of going eventually as I do not want to relapse anytime. I need to know that they are really sure I am ready to finish and hope there's a bit of aftercare as well.

I love the friendly, quiet, clean atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and don't look down on you or judge you at all, we are all treated equally and fairly. They all show respect so I respect every one back.

I have no complaints about anything, I am so happy with the place and the staff.

Thank you for taking the time to post - it's great for us to hear that you're making good progress with the help of treatment provided by us at Guernsey House and that your experiences within the clinic have been so positive. I will make sure our clinical team get to read your comments - It sounds like you have a brilliant relationship with your doctor.

We do provide relapse prevention advice and there is an after care service provided by Addaction which we can refer you on to - they are usually happy to come to Guernsey House to talk to clients who are about to finish treatment with us.

You could also ask your doctor or keyworker about our SMART Recovery group meetings. We hold them every Wednesday between 5-6:30pm, they are led by a staff member and aim to help clients to develop tools to help them meet and stick to their recovery goals.

The meetings are welcoming and everyone there has experience of addiction.

Well done on your reduction - and best of luck with your recovery.
