"Wonderful caring attitude shown by all staff"

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

Anything else?

My TIA came as a complete surprise and although I now feel 100% again at the time I was very anxious of my new situation. I felt reassured from the moment I met my doctor, everything was explained in great detail and nothing was left to chance – CT scans, MRI scans, heart tests, blood tests and a whole host of other things were organised and more importantly results were proffered without delay and all over a Bank Holiday weekend! I was asked several times if I had any questions which were then answered in great depth - I am truly grateful for your wonderful professional skills, great warmth and passion for your job. It would be wrong not to mention also the marvellous team that received me in A&E on that morning too – again I was met with kindness and reassurance by every single person I saw – so important to a patient who finds themselves in an unfamiliar and frightening situation. The team on the stroke ward are amazing – I saw first hand the greatest empathy, I watched staff feed those who required it - nurses combed ladies hair and everyone’s dignity was preserved at all times – it was so pleasing to see and the fear of my ordeal was hugely reduced by the kindness I observed for myself. The words “Thank You” seem so small when I actually want to say a huge thank you – but I hope you get the message!

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are extremely grateful that you have taken the time to provide this feedback. Our staff work hard to try to ensure that a patient’s experience whilst at the hospital is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and they are always considerably heartened and motivated on learning how much their efforts have been appreciated. We have passed your kind sentiments to staff in our Emergency Department and on the Stroke Ward. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on freephone 0800 432 0251, email wih-tr.pals@nhs.net or in writing to PALS, Arrowe Park Hospital, Arrowe Park Road, Upton, Wirral, CH49 5PE.
