"quality of information"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

Anything else?

I have recently attended as the result of a forthcoming knee replacement. I have no problem with the overall service but there are two incidents I would like to highlight. I have, twice, been to see a Consultant and have been dealt with both times, at some point, by his assistant. On each occassion I have had considerable difficulty understanding what was being said because of the assistants accent. I asked for things to be repeated, when this happened, but eventually stopped asking as I was embarassed. The second incident was when I attended the "Joint school". I was given a form prior to attending with some instructions for what to do on the day. Part of the form asked that I fill in a form in the folder I was given and to provide a urine sample in the container I was given. When I arrived for the Joint School I was told that they didn't want the form or the sample as they should be taken to my pre assessment appointment. My problem is that this is not made clear, at all, on the form I wasfirst given. It is worth mentioning that one of the hospital staff who ran the joint clinic said that my misunderstanding was quite common and people often brought the form and sample with them. A review of the info form may be of benefit.
